    Abstract: This article introduces the present situation of south slope geological deformation in Fushun West Open-pit Mine and the necessity of building the belt conveying system in the deformation zone. To ensure the pit shale oil refinery tailings dump and save labor and transportation costs, the mine adopts the semi-fixed belt conveyor, a sliding skid type head, rotating anchor structure tail station and semi-fixed silo technology to achieve the waste residue and tailings discharging to the pit dump, which saves the automobile transportation distance 3km and annual automobile freight more than 30 million.
