Abstract: By analyzing the mechanics index of rock in East Open-pit Mine, the article analyzed the different span goaf with the discrete element numerical simulation software UDEC, obtained the safety thickness of roof rock in the corresponding span and the formula that had small difference with roof rock safety thickness.
